Privacy Policy

Checkin is a private social app for sharing short, temporary updates — "checkins" — with the friends you choose. No public feed. No followers. No algorithm chasing your attention.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Checkin, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Checkin prohibits the use of this platform in any way that exploits or harms minors. This includes any content that sexually exploits children (CSAE — Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation). Any account found sharing, soliciting, or distributing such content will be immediately removed and reported to the relevant authorities.

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email.
• User-generated content. The checkins, comments, and reactions you create within the app.
• Optional integrations. If you choose to connect Apple Health or Strava, we receive only the data needed to power those checkins.

If you connect Apple Health, Apple Watch, or Strava, Checkin can read workout data — type, duration, and basic metrics — to let you share workouts as checkins.

This data is used solely to display and share your workouts inside Checkin. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties.

Location is only used when you create a Place or Trip checkin — for example, to generate an ETA for a road trip or pin a venue.

Checkin does not track your location in the background.

Your checkins are only visible to the friends or private circles you choose. Nothing you post is public by default.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Ever.

Checkins disappear from your friends' feeds after 24 hours. Some content may remain visible to you, the creator, in your personal history.

When you delete your account, your profile and associated content are removed from our systems.

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and we limit internal access to user data on a strict need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.

You can, at any time:

• Access the data associated with your account
• Update or correct your profile information
• Disconnect any integration (Apple Health, Strava)
• Delete your account and associated content
